Bloomberg journalist Pradeep Kurup focused on the art of headline writing in his lecture at the Asian College of Journalism. Kurup, who leads the team responsible for headlines out of South Asia at Bloomberg, talked about the evolving role of a journalist in the face of rising automation in media. He encouraged students to find new ways to add value to any headline/story rather than focus merely on commoditised news. He also taught them how to identify hoaxes and prepare for scheduled events.
