Research scientist Tim Nugent used his lecture at the Asian College of Journalism to highlight the risks a company faces and the methods used to measure those using algorithms and artificial intelligence. Nugent is currently a senior research scientist at Refinitiv (formerly the financial and risk business of Thomson Reuters) and specialises in machine learning and blockchain (the technology behind cryptocurrencies). He explained why cryptocurrency (such as Bitcoin and Ether) is the future of money, the history of Bitcoin and how the Ethereum blockchain works.
