The veteran photojournalist highlighted the importance of photography in business journalism in his lecture at the Asian College of Journalism.
He urged students to focus on capturing the main essence of the story rather than obsessing over techniques and technology, while taking pictures.
Combining a good lead image with a powerful headline is essential to make a strong impact on readers, said Krishnan, who has also worked with Hindustan Times, Forbes India and Businessworld.
Krishnan encouraged aspiring photojournalists to break the conventional rules in business photography and show the courage to develop their own frames. He also urged them to invest time in gaining the trust of people before clicking their pictures, especially while covering sensitive issues.
